Shaun Alexander will be released!

So some news came out about 10 minutes ago that we will see Shaun Alexander cut from the Seahawks roster as early as the end of today! This is big news as we've all been wondering what is going to happen to Shaun and where he stands on the Seahawks' roster with the recent signings of Julius Jones and T.J. Duckett.

I will be the first to admit that Shaun's production has been frustrating to watch the last two years. I know that he has battled injury during that time, but to watch him repeatedly fail on 3rd and 1 situations and then come back to the sideline with no emotion or visible frustration hurt to watch as a die hard Hawks fan. I am sure that Shaun was as frustrated as anyone, it just never showed in his on-field body language.

If my RB does not get that 1 yard, I want him to be fired up and pumping the offensive line up on the sideline. Waiting antsy-like for the next offensive set so that he can get back out there for a chance to run someone over, not smiling on the sidelines like it was no thing. With the recent moves the Hawks have made, and 2 straight seasons of sub-par running, it is to no surprise that the Seahawks have chose to part ways with Shaun.

I wish the best for Shaun, a part of me is definitely sad to see him go. He gave us many great years here in Seattle and is no doubt a Seahawk for life in my book. He is one of the main reasons we have such a high standard for RBs here in Seattle. No one can argue that he did not give this team an elite presence at RB. The numbers do not lie, 5 straight years of 15+ TDs. I'll take those numbers any day of the week!! I believe that Shaun still has some gas in the tank and I will be more than happy to see him succeed somewhere else.

So good luck Shaun, you'll always be a Seahawk great in my book, 2 years of frustration cannot erase a career.

I don't feel bad for him. He can now go retire with his millions of dollars for playing a kids game.
